The epididymis is called the epididymis. Structure and function of the epididymis are described here. Acute epididymitis is the most common cause of acute swelling of the testicles. While children still dominates the testicular torsion, the diagnosis of infection with age is increasingly likely, especially with men in their twenties, and between the ages of 40 and 60 Age of cancer.

Urine enters the epididymis, where it causes an inflammatory reaction.
The cause of epididymitis is in most cases, a urinary tract infection. The infected urine enters the urethra and vas deferens into the epididymis, where the seeds set. Cough, frequent and strong straining at stool or heavy physical labor will affect equally supportive, as prostate enlargement in older men, urethral valves or a permanent catheter inserted. Pathogen-free urine may also, if a backflow (reflux) occurs, causing an inflammatory reaction of the epididymis. This cause of epididymitis is very common.
