Metal fencing to keep the urethra open.
A gentle method is borrowed from the cardiology using so-called prostate stents. Stents are located
self-unfolding, flexible metal mesh tube. They are used in the prostatic urethra under vision unfold and there so that they squeeze the urethra and keep apart so mechanically open. This treatment method can look back on several years of successful history.

Stents may slip.
The complications of this procedure are, firstly, the danger that such a stent slipped into the urethra, either back or forward. It also happens time and again that bacteria attach themselves to the stent, leading to recurrent infections. Also may increase the risk of stone formation. The guidelines of the German Society of Urology recommend the implantation of stents in high-risk patients only.
