Hormonal causes of erectile dysfunction occur, given the importance of hormonal control, with a total of 5 percent of the cases only relatively rarely.


Some hormonal disorders can cause erectile dysfunction
There are hormonal diseases that erectile dysfunction can bring. These include:

     thyroid disorders
     Lack of or reduced production of sex hormonal glands
     Hyperprolactinemia, often as a result of a prolactinoma. A prolactinoma is a pituitary adenoma (adenomas are usually benign) that produces prolactin.


The testosterone levels decrease in old age
Overall, it can be the physiologic decline with age, testosterone levels is a cause of erectile dysfunction associated with loss of libido, lethargy, depressed mood, decreasing performance and other typical signs of male menopause (andropause).
