In a survey conducted in Cologne, at the 8000 men affected by erectile dysfunction have been asked to co-morbidities, the following results were obtained:

     72.2 percent of LUTS (see below)
     32 percent of hypertension
     20.2 percent of diabetes
     18.8 percent of operations on the pelvis

LUTS stands for Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms. This refers to various symptoms, such as decreasing urine or incontinence, which can be caused by various diseases of the lower urinary tract. As you know, that is affected with age, almost every second man from a benign enlarged prostate (BPH) with urinary symptoms, and the corresponding share of co-morbidities for erectile dysfunction is high. Overall, the increased risk of erectile dysfunction in BPH and LUTS existing at around the 1.75 to 2.1 times.
