Diabetics often develop within the first 10 years erectile dysfunction
Among the metabolic disorders as a cause of erectile dysfunction is at the forefront of diabetes mellitus to call. Diabetes causes blood vessels in the long term, both the large and small blood vessels, and nerve damage. 35-75 percent of diabetics suffer from erectile dysfunction, which often develop within the first 10 years. The cause of erectile dysfunction varies depending on the type of diabetes:

In type 2 diabetics is erectile dysfunction resulting from damage to blood vessels in the sense of a microangiopathy (For a persistent high blood sugar levels change, the walls of the capillary blood vessels. They are slowly getting fatter.) Or macroangiopathy (changes to the major blood vessels). Does not pass through the damage to the blood vessels genĂ¼gent blood into the corpora cavernosa (erectile see: How does it work?)
In type 1 diabetes is erectile dysfunction is based more on disorders of the nerves due to a Polyneuopathie (damage to peripheral nerves caused by inadequate supply of oxygen). Through disruption to nerve transmission signals of the brain that initiate an erection can not be more directed on.

Other metabolic disorders as a cause of erectile dysfunction, chronic renal dysfunction and chronic liver dysfunction, such as liver cirrhosis. Their formation is favored by elevated blood fats, alcohol and drug addiction.
