Renal pelvis

Bookmark and Share
The renal pelvis is formed from the confluence of the calices. In each kidney there are about 8 to 10 calyces. The renal pelvis is in the kidney bay. But it does not completely fill the bay. The kidney is like the bay distribution space for all structures located in Nierenhilum. These are also the renal artery and renal vein and the ureter. The renal pelvis narrows the farther it moves towards Nierenhilum. In the end it goes into the ureter, which is called in technical language ureter over.

Dendritic or ampullary type
Renal pelvis are not in shape, each human individual. There are two different types of renal pelvis, the "branched" or dendritic type and the "connected" or ampullary type.
