Basal cell carcinoma (BCC)

The basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is one of Central Europe to the most common malignant tumors. It causes extremely rare metastases (metastases) in other organs - unlike other skin cancers, such as the Black skin cancer (malignant melanoma) or squamous cell cancer (squamous). Physicians indicate the basal cell carcinoma therefore also called "semi-malignant tumor."

The basal cell carcinoma can occur in all skin areas. Mainly affects fair-skinned individuals (skin type I or II). Men and women are affected equally. The incidence increases with age, peaks between the sixth and 8 Decade of life. In rare cases, the Basalzellkrebs in an inherited syndrome may also have from 20 Age occur.

The basal cell is adjacent to the squamous cell carcinoma of the most common skin cancers. At least 100 of 100,000 people are diagnosed with one basal cell carcinoma.
